some advice needed plz
I just got a 91 tt and it runs great, but when i get on it in 3, 4, and 5 gears the engine just shoots up to redline. It wont accelerate, it just goes nuts. Is it something with the turbos? Do i need a boost controller? Any advice would help.

The clutch probably needs a little adjusting, do you have a burning smell when this happens.
Try adjusting the clutch a little, where is your engagement point when you let the clutch out? Is it high? If so you may need just a little adjustment, or you could need a new clutch.
