Speedometer

Ok guys check this one out. I was crusin on the freeway, being semi-lawful at around 80mph. I look at my speedometer and it's pegged. I stare at if for a sec then it goes to normal. Like three four times it did this. Then, I'm on my way home and I'm in cruise cntl and it does it again, I know it's not the dial cause the CC disengaged. What do you all think?

Speed sensor? Maybe. It plugs into the tranny. Slide under your car and wiggle the connectors. There are 2 or 3 connectors down there. All of them are on the passenger side. Try disconnecting the plugs and spraying some WD-40 in there. Not sure how you'd check it for sure tho. Anyone else?

the speed sensor located on the transmission is the one (of three) nearest the engine. there are additional speed sensors on the wheel assemblies that measure wheel rotations as well. i would check connections first. Actually i have been experiencing the same symptoms recently.

I'm having a similar problem or my speedometer will show me going 100 when doing 70. Do speed sensors go bad/unreliable? I was unaware of sensors on the wheel assemblies. Thanks.
