Stock 1991 Headlights
Not too familiar with the lighting system (front low beams) but the stock system is an underachiever.
Anyone have any factoids on a replacement bulb that will "light up the flippin' road" without costing a lot ???
Thanks !!

are you sure it is your bulbs? 'cause I have a '91, na though, but when I first got it I could barely see in front of me at night, so I opened the hood and adjusted the lights a bit to where they pointed up more, and that worked fine for me, didnt have to spend any money also.. always a good thing
or am I totally wrong and do you just want a brighter bulb?

I bought PIAA bulbs and they are beautiful and brighter, but since you sit so low to the ground and you really cannot see the road in front of you unless you drive like a granny, it will always be hard to see as you are in the direct light sight of normal cars with a higher stance. These bulbs were $105 though.

Yes...I have the normal sight issue with oncoming traffic but I was refering to dark road and no oncoming traffic. (sorry...never mentioned that). I don't drive like a granny yet...so not more concerned with "normal downrange vision" on low beams.
What is a PIAA bulb and do you have a link to the source site ?
Thx

heres one link, its not where I got them but I cannot remember the place I bought them: http://www.ltbmotorsport.com/bulbs.html
I got the 7500K bulbs which have a bluish purplish tint to them that look very nice and upgrade the look of the car significantly.
You will probably have to look around on the web under PIAA bulbs and find them, but when I get home I can tell you exactly what I got and probably where I got them from.

Hey just a couple of questions regarding headlights..
What is the power of the bubls that most of you guys are using?..
I ask this cuz I've seen bulbs rated from 3800k to as high as 7500k.. but what is actually considered good without going to over the top?.. I hate being blinded by others so I wouldn't like doing the same..
At the moment I think I'm gonna go with Sylvania's Silverstar.. they are affordable and have a white crisp look.. not that blue-ish ricey tint..
And 2nd.. is there a way of cleaning tha inside of the light assembly? I was looking and I saw really small pieces of glass inside the passenger side hadlight.. most likely the previous owner had a blown bulb.. so I would like to clean it but without risking to have some haze or foggy buildup inside the headlight..
Any ideas?

I used the PIAA Extreme white 9006 bulbs. They work great and are 65 bucks a pair. http://www.ltbmotorsports.com/bulbs.html.
To remove my "exploded" old bulb from the low beam area on the 300zx, I used this method (not scientific but I got it out in 2 minutes on the 2nd try).
Use an allen wrench (3/8" width or slightly larger) and wrap duct tape around the short section so that the sticky side is out (extend the tape so that the wrench becomes longer).
Aim a spotlight into the light from the front so that it illuminates the inside of the light bucket.
Stick allen wrench tool into the light fixture from the bulb side.
Once inside, straighten out the wrench and go fishing.
It's important to "stick" the bulb gently and on the end of it, so it fits thru the hole.
If you succeed, you get to perform breast enhancement thru the nipple on the woman of your choice!
Good luck!

Ok people.. just great.. I went a bought some replacement bulbs.. Sylvania Silvertars for the low beams.. and they look great..
but as I went and tried to adjust the beams so they would point a bit upwards and not so down the adjusting mechanism (screw thingy) got f*cked up.. now the headlights look as if I had been in an accident..
Now what do I do?.. I was following the instructions as the manual says.. and now it is like the adjusting screws are not working anymore..
Any help please?
