Thinking of trading in my 280zx for a Z32
But I only want to trade up if the 300zx has noticably more hp and a stock NA Z32 wont be much boost over my 280 right now. So I have been looking for TT's close to my area without much luck, but I saw on the net a guy in my town is selling his NA (I've seen this car around). While normally I wouldnt really be looking for an NA he has quite a few mods, Borla exhaust, Stillen Intake, bigger throttle bottles, and a JWT computer upgrade just to name some of the stuff. He claims that he has around 290hp and I'd like to know if that is feasible or if he is bullshitting me, I dunno if that would mean at the wheels or the flywheel, id guess the flywheel because that sounds like alot of HP for the NA engine without modifying the camshaft, etc...

Well man for one, get outta this post and look at the "headers for a 93 n/a" and you tell me if this power increase is plausable or realistic considering his modifications. I know on my Z, I have:
-Injen intake system (thanks to some advice, haha Rizz)
+6-8hp
-R34 GTR Skyline Mass Air Flow Sensor
+9-11hp
-straight back exhaust (custom fabricated by yours truely, screw EPA and their regulations!)
not sure, but I think about +12hp
-ported heads
+8hp
-titanium valve springs
+2-3hp
-air/fuel/timing ratio relay chip
6-7hp
so add that onto 220 hp at flywheel, and you get 251hp at least, and 257hp at most. I payed 2800 for my Z (after shipping from Hollywood to eastcoast, and reg, and all that) and put in about 1200 bucks into fix-it parts, and mods.
although my engine is not RUNNING yet due to some bad valve buckets, haha, it is in the works. I am estimating about 240-250, so think about it for a sec, and get back to me if you think this guy is bullshitting or not. peace
