Unseen Lock Issue

Unseen Lock Issue
I searched and read everything having to do with power locks, and can not find a fix.
I have a 92 Z32, n/a 5spd, and Heres the deal, I can not unlock or lock from the drivers outter handle, key cylinder will turn though. Also, I can not lock the doors if a door is open, I have to hold down the door switch so the car thinks all doors are closed in order to lock them. If i dont hold it down, it will lock and then automatically unlock and sort of unlock twice. There was an aftermarket alarm which i removed completely and repaired all the wires spliced.
Any help would be awesome, thanks guys

there might be a disconnected linkage inside the door itself for your first problem. for the second problem thats just the car smarter than you. it does that so you dont accidentally lock your keys in the car. next time, with the door open hold the interior door handle out (as if trying to open the door from the inside but with the door already ajar) and then flip the lock. should stay locked, at least i think thats how the Z's work. that or it was the outer door handle. try either way, but its just a safety feature.

Thanks
A safety feature huh? Thats good to know, i got two friends with z's and would have tested it before, but one is getting nothing from his power door locks and the other re wired his for buttons.
Ill have to rip apart the door on my next day off and just search through the entire door, maybe hit pick and pull and grab some wiring to try swapping.

the second problem, the door should stay locked and not unlock, it will however unlock if you shut the door without holding the outter handle open while you shut the door. The second problem I would bet is related to your aftermarket security feature you removed somehow.

If you close both doors and use the key to manually lock the driver's side, do both sides still lock?
