Upgrade to stock Rear end?? 93 N/A 2+2
Anyone have a suggestion to an upgrade on the rear end of my 93 n/a 2+2? I have 191K miles on the car and the rear end is making a lot of noise. Figure it's time to upgrade or rebuild. Any suggestions? I have already ordered my Platinum 1 peice drive shaft.
Thanks,
Thanks,

find a low mileage used one off of another forum or at a junk yard. or you can toss out a few more benjamins and get an lsd http://www.splparts.com/

Stock (R200) is good enough. An alternative might be a Quaife ATB LSD or the one that SPL sells, but they're not really necessary. IMO, the advantages of an upgraded LSD (aside from going to a larger gear, which isn't really available for the R200's 4.083) are marginal at best on a street-driven 300ZX. That's not to say there aren't advantages, but unless you beat the hell out of your car, you might not notice much of a difference. (And for reference, the Quaife LSD is supposed to help with wet traction, so if you're going to go with any option, I'd go with that one.)

well, i was focused on the TT.....i forgot to check again to see what he had, and the website i went to just had TT specs. but i knew the r200s were used on the 280s, and now know that they were used on all the Zs after that as well(minus the TT). ive never really done and research on our differentials, so basically, i didnt know that the z32 n/as used the r200 instead of the 230.
but, yea i know you know your ****, and thats why its nice to see you post from time to time, cuz i know i can rely on it. i just made a mistake of not researching fully(and not knowing it already).

But I remembered the NA used the R200 from Citations post; he was all excited about Quaife making a replacement for the R230 and had mentioned that the NA guys already had the option for their R200, so it's not so much that I knew it from experience, but I knew it from memory and had searched to verify that memory before posting (which is what I normally do - I make sure I can find something to support my statements from a reputable source before I make them).
