VG30DE Horsepower Barrier

VG30DE Horsepower Barrier
I just Bought a 95 300zx NA (manuel) with 114,000 miles (excellent condition!). I am thinking about putting a single or twin turbo kit into it.. I know the VG30DETT can handle 500+ Horsepower. I was wondering if anyone knew how much horsepower my VG30DE can handle without starting to replace major components...?

And if you built the engine for forced induction, I'd hope that one would go with lower compression pistons and stronger TT wristpins. Wait a minute, in that case, why wouldn't that person just go with a stock TT engine? GENIUS!

why have a stock engine when you have the means to have a built one???? but again he stated not replacing components. i doubt he is going to be boosting the crap out of a stock engine anyway it being a n/a or even if he had a turbo one. so no need kick this dead horse.

Because it'd be cheaper to get a stock TT engine and it'd handle gobs of horsepower, as compared to building an NA motor with TT specifications (to handle that kind of power). For most people, the stock TT internals are sufficient. The small components needed to be able to put the power down in an NA motor would quickly add up, but the stock TT motor already has them. For this matter, it's also cheaper to build a TT motor than it is to build an NA VG30DE to be able to handle turbos.

BUT again he was asking what are the capabilities of a stock n/a engine. so back to original question. AS zlover says not as much as a tt engine will supposedly holds but you can still boost the n/a engine and have some fun.
