Nope, I think you were dead on.

I don't think it's possible. The 3 liter barely fits in there, so I don't know how anyone would squeeze in anything bigger.

damn, it would be pretty sweet you have to admit. has anyone seen the signal 350z in superstreet with a sr20det? i dont know if i like the idea or not it makes sence to save weight and a better center of gravity but i dont know if i would want to give up 1.5 liters to do that

Forced induction helps a lot with that tho, for the SR20.

As far as the larger engine, I could see it fitting in the Z32 but only in NA form. A larger engine plus turbo and piping would be a nightmare.

yeah but it still doesnt seem right. i guess its kinda cool just to be able to say that you did it.

n/a is what i was thinking the the vq45. it makes 340hp with no turbo lag plus the car would sound really mean. i still think its a good idea

i have been looking around at differnt engine swaps and two of them i have seen are the rb25 and 26 and the 2jz gte supra motor both of which are inline sixes so im thinking that it would fit in terms of length. does anybody know how wide the vq45s are? my guess would be that they are pretty close to the vg30s

Somewhere, a while back, when I was knda thinking of putting a vg30 in my 510, I stumbled across a web site that had an overlay of a vk45 and a vg30. iirc the vg has a narrower angle between the cylinders than the vk / vh. Hence the need for a torch and a big hammer. :badpc:

Here's some interesting nissan engine info:

yeah it fits with minor hood mods lol but i do like the aproach lost's crew took.

just removed the conflicting metal instead of adding a slight cowl to the oem hood to keep it looking stock.

Thanks Lost for clearing this up. Fact of the matter is the VH45DE is the same width as the VG30DETT engine and only 3 1/2" longer, but 100lbs lighter than a VG30 engine. It fit in my engine compartment with ease and being I'm using a automatic, the TT automatic bolted right up to the VH45 bellhousing.
