Water By-pass hose (DELETION)

Has anyone deleted the hoses under their upper plenums? I am wanting to do it, but I am not sure which pipes can be removed and which one need to be rerouted for the turbos. Pics and detailed discriptions please! Thanks!

Where did you hear about this? I saw it for the 1st time the other day, but the directions sucked. I'm in the process of putting my plenum back on (among other things), and if I can get rid of many of those little bypass hoses, then I'd be one happy camper.

That's an excellent write-up. That will make re-installing the plenumso much easier. Not to mention less expensive. I'll be able to return a bunch of the coolant bypass hoses to Courtesy.

AH YES!! Thank you! Thats just what I was lookin for. I was worried about gettin everything by passed correctly without cookin a turbo. This is great, the pics are awesome too. The onlt thing I have to really worry bout know, other than reassembling the motor, is to pull the tranny when I get back to school. I have to do that b/c my TT has a leak between the passenger side pre-cat and the turbo. I kinda hopin it may be close to time to replacin the clutch too so I can get eveything done at once. Rather than pullin it twice. Thanks again guys, I ll give u an update when I get it back runnin. This site and twinturbo.net is great for a DIY like me, I m 17 and doin all the work myself. I dont trust anyone else to do cause I know how much fun these cars are, and I dont want anyone kissin a guard rail with either one screwin around.

You don't have to drop the tranny to fix that. If you remove the battery, then you should be able to reach it. Are you replacing the gasket, or are you just trying to tighten it? Use 'Blaster' spray to help loosen those turbo bolts. Spray it on and let it sit overnight.

I dunno yet..i will take it one step at a time. First I ll just try tightin the bolts. If that doesnt work I ll move to step 2, replacing the gasket. Eventaully, I want to get down pipes. But thats not happenin right now
