Yes, the fuel gauges tend to hit empty around 13-14 gallons into it, but I always fill up when its at about 12 gallons used

Yeah, they are suppose to get 28 mpg hw, so technically you should be able to get 400-450 miles out of a full tank if you do almost all highway, but with these old engines its more like 300 to a tank

mine never had any problem like this until after i threw in a TT fuel pump, after that i started noticing it dropped a lot faster...and when i filled up, it only takes 8 or 9 gallons tops...

i also noticed that when i take long turns to the right (like a long curve, or an on/off ramp), shifting the weight to the left of the car...the side where the pump is, the gas gauge drops considerably...like it can be full when going straight, and down to a half tank when i'm turning right...

and just the opposite when i'm making a long gradual left turn, and shifting all the fuel in the tank to the right side of the car, away from the pump...i can go from E all the way back up to a half tank

kinda nice knowing that i can still go quite a ways after i hit E, but it's gonna suck when i wanna go to the track with just like a quarter tank of gas, because i'll have no way of telling how much fuel i have left...

technically, it's 18.7 gallons... but who's counting... the gauge reads empty between 12 and 14 on most anyway

I've learned not to fret when my gas light comes on. It's nice knowing I still have about 5 gallons left in the tank. I've found that even when the needle is just below the lowest line, I still have about 1 and a half to 2 gallons left.
