Will 15inches clear a tranny drop?

Hey everyone im pretty much new to the z32 scene and DIY in general, i was wondering if i can drop the 5spd transmission to change my clutch at this height.

My car is currently on jackstands at about 15 1/2 inches high.

Ive looked around and read that the car needs to be at least 19 inches high for a clutch job. So im wondering if its possible to drop the tranny at 15inches high with a tranny jack.

Welcome to ZDriver!

And no. The bell housing is taller than 15". Unless you like performing dangerous activities that will likely hurt you, I suggest you go buy taller jack stands, or cinder blocks (if jack stands are too pricey for you).

=0 dang! Well my jack stands do go higher than 21inches, its just that my floor jack wont go that high. My Jack stands are currently 2 clicks away from the lowest setting lol.

Any suggestions? I just need to change my clutch.

-Get a better / bigger jack.
-Use a secure block of wood atop the jack mount (contact plate)
-Place jack on raised platform

Use some imagination / ingenuity... hopefully this isn't the first time you've jacked up a car before.

Driving the car up onto boards is also a trick for lowered cars.
