power loss?????
I lose all my battery extrememly fast. We have narrowed it down to the alternator isn't putting out enough. I have been told you can exchange it w/ a gm alternator. what i need to know is if you have to rewire it or you can use the same wires. and if you can mount it on the regular mount, and if there are other modifications that have to be made?
thanks

Not to sound like I'm not interested, but......getting back to the original question. Check your battery terminals, especially the ground. If you have a poor ground it can, and generally does, effect the charging system. Check the the wires haven't come loose from the alternator. You can usually get a decent reman alternator for $60-$80 bucks after core return. Check that you have plenty of water in the battery also.

Actually, you were correct IZwutumean. The Z33 is wider than the Z32.
Wheelbase numbers put the Z33 at 104.3 in. and the Z32 at 96.5. The width for the Z33 is 71.5. The Z32 measures 70.5. The length of the two is even closer with the Z32 coming in a hair longer by .1 at 169.5. More headroom is available in the Z33 (38.2coupe, 39.2roadster vs. 35.5 Z32) but there's less leg room (42.6Z33 vs. 43.0 Z32) it's very slight though. The Z32 is lower at 49.4 as opposed to 51.9. The Z33 Roadster is an astonishing 39.2 inches in height however. Losing the roof affects the overall height, but I'm sure most of the loss is at the roof level, rather than height off the ground. At least Nissan somewhat addressed the weight issue of the older Z32 when building the Z33. The Z33 comes in a couple hundred lbs lighter. The Roadster however gained it all right back to Z32 standards of @3400 lbs. They even managed to improve the fuel economy despite the larger engine. Z32NA 17/25 vs Z33NA 18/26. 18 being lowest for Auto Roadster and 26 being best for MT Coupe. Of course the larger fuel tank helps, 20 vs 18.7 Gallons.
Since looking at the numbers and realizing how close both cars are in dimensions, I still attribute the wider looking stance to the higher hoodline and fenders.
