06 350z Clutch Pedal Gets Stuck halfway up
I've been having a problem lately with my clutch pedal. After I step on he clutch the pedal itself only comes up about half way. I hen have to pull it up manually with my foot. Anyone have any insight?

I took it to the dealer and they told me that the "master cylinder" is leaking and needs to be replaced. Somehow I just dont beleive them. I feel it's just a tension issue. Does the master cylinder control the tension or spring in the clutch pedal?

You'd better believe it...
My 2000 Frontier Crew Cab blew the BRAKE Master Cylinder after two weeks with less than 900 Miles on the odometer...
Rod.

oh man..... the master cylinder will be mounted to your firewall on the inside of the engine compartment (looks similare to brake master which would be right next to it) and will be directly behind the clutch pedal location, the slave is the cylinder with a puch rod attatched to teh bottom of your tranny with one hydraulic line going to it.

Another Clutch problem here....I have close to 2100 miles on my 06 Z and my clutch pedal makes like a clicking/popping sound in the engine compartment somewhere towards the bottom of the engine. It's not the little engage/disengage switch on the clutch pedal itself. It does it randomly. Mostly when the car is cool, but occasionly while its warm. Almost sounds like a cable thats loose and keeps popping in and out of place. I took it back to the dealer and they said they couldn't reproduce it. Another problem I also realized is that I also had to add two quarts of oil to it. That shouldn't be normal for a brand new car, should it???

I had a 350z that would eat a quart of oil every 700 miles. I had some pretty good mods on it too. CAI, Intake manifold, Headers, Highflow cats, and exhaust. I got the dealer to replace my shortblock. So NO its not okay. Make them replace your engine.

What year did you have? I heard this "MIGHT" be a problem in 2006's (which is what I have)

It's your clutch heating, your master cylinder should last a lifetime. I really doubt it's defective. Master cylinders aren't just defective. If your not low on brake/clutch oil it's not your master cylinder. You may have air in your hoses but it's not the master cylinder. Heating clutch. #1 bleed #2 buy clutch kit.

So...I have a 2008 350z touring. I experienced a similar issue with my clutch.
It was getting stuck halfway and I would have to pull it loose with my foot as I drove. When I brought it into the dealership, where I have a maintenance packages, so all the work is done there, they said they couldn't reproduce the issue and sent me off on my way. The next day, I approached a stop sign in 2nd, depressed the clutch, and it got stuck fully depressed. I hit the brakes (with the clutch fully depressed, in 2nd gear) and could not take it out of gear. The car died.
Discovered that the clutch fluid reservoir was empty...1 day after driving off the dealership lot from having it checked out. I filled it and drove it straight back to the dealership and demanded they look at it again!
Finally, I was told there was a leak and the slave cylinder needed to be replaced -- $1020.00 + tax...EFF THAT!
It is still in the shop now because my 3 year warranty was up in June 2011. The service manager is pleading my case to Nissan but his rep isn't back until 1/3/12.
Z-less for a week now...sad...I will post again when I have more information.
Anyone else have more info.

If you've got an 08 it has the internal slave common to all the VQ35HR's, its a known problem and nissan isn't going to do a thing about it once your warranty runs out... Best option out there is Z-speed's upgraded unit, its pretty much bulletproof and what most of the boosted guys have to run as well. Good friend of mine TT'd his 350 (507whp on 8psi, stock block) and his stock slave lasted maybe a month before he was back in the shop getting it replaced
