1978 Datsun 280Z for sale...
This is a 1978 Datsun 280Z with chassis number: HLS30-448652 02/78. I have owned this car since December 1998. The color is called wine red metallic (paint code #611) and it has been repainted once and could use some help. The floors are in good shape with no holes. The floor supports are also in good condition. The trapezoid section in the driver's side front wheelwell is rusted but could be spot repaired. I am also including a urethane front air dam as well. I have purchased a good set of used fenders (Nissan parts sticker still visible on the back)which were removed from a friend's '77 280Z w/ 63k orig. miles on it.
This 280Z has unfortunately been on the back burner for most of the time that I have owned it and thus many of my other Z car projects got finished before this one. With a little time and money this 280Z could be very nice as I have already dealt with the mechanical bits. The BCDD valve is still a bit of a problem and I haven't had my Nissan mechanic take a look at it. Last summer with the engine out I refinished the engine bay with new paint and clear. All of the brackets were taken out and sandblasted and repainted the correct colors. The engine was also painted in the factory shade of blue.

(In the photos it is shown with steel wheels and hubcaps although I was planning on installing a set of 280ZX 4 spoke alloys for the new owner)
I have replaced and installed the following:
1982 280ZX F54/P79 engine from my old '82 with 119k on it. I have the maintenance records for this engine when it was in my '82 which go back to 1986 and 37k. The engine doesn't smoke or burn oil or make any noises.
1982 280ZX 5 speed transmission (rebuilt ATK unit w/ 50k on it).
Nissan clutch kit and rear main seal/ front trans. gasket and trans. seal. with new Nissan clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder and clutch hose.
Motorsport lowering springs w/ KYB struts and urethane bump stops.
Carbo-tech rear brake shoes and new wheel cylinders.
Front calipers w/ Nissan pads and hardware kit.
N42 non-egr intake manifold w/ new Nissan injectors and seals.
All coolant (bypass/radiator/heater) hoses w/ new clamps (Nissan).
All vacuum lines replaced with silicone vacuum hose (Hose Techniques).
New Nissan battery (group 24--575cca) and new negative battery cable.
New Nissan inner shift boots (two of them) just installed.
New Nissan ignition switch.
New Nissan fusible links and covers.
New fuel pump relay.
New Nissan oil pressure switch.
All of these parts have less than 500 miles on them. The title is clear with no issues. If you are a Md. buyer I will throw in the set of red/ white classic plates which can be re-registered to for the new owner. I plan on taking a whole new batch of photos before the weekend including detailed wheelwell photos and undercarriage as well.
Email with any questions that you may have.
