1980 280zx
selling my 1980 280zx. I just picked this car up from my grandma about 2 months ago and she bought it off the lot back in 80. car is in great shape, black leather seats, no rips, slight dash crack, clean black carpet. car has 229,790 miles on her but runs like a champ. rebuilt the transmission as itwas slipping, took it apart and found it to be missing 2 friction discs. runs great now. I was asking $4000 for it but i think thats too much tell me what ya think. its on craigs list under san fran bay area. I live in winters close to vacaville

its a nice car but being auto and that many miles you can prolly pull 2k from it maybe? idk im not the s130 guy here lol, but its a very clean car.

Wow man, that is a clean friggin' Z. And is that an all black interior? I didn't know they had the straight black interior after '79. And that is an '80, hmmm... Yeah I would say 2-3k tops. And considering it is an auto. But also being a slicktop, is a nice bonus. But like I said, a real clean, high mileage Z. But it does not show the miles whatsoever. Props on getting such a sweet ride. Good luck to you on selling it. Now I do have to ask... Why do you want to sell it? These cars are fun, and addicting.

The reason im selling it is because I have a 240sx and insurance is too expensive for both cars. I wish I didnt have to sell her, shes a blast to drive. My friggen job does not pay enough for me to be cool. Well then ill start her off at $3000 at the highest and see where that takes me. Let me know if anyone is interested.

insurance expensive for both THOSE cars??? either your not making much, or your getting ripped on insurance....

Its not really that its my rent, im paying 1000 a month for my house. And im trying to focus on my 240 right now, the car was something out of the blue. im paying 335 a month for both insurance policies, ive been in three car accidents before so my premium sucks. none of them my fault though.

ugh, you pay as much per month as i do for 6 months. nice looking z there, would make a great candidate for a turbo/5spd swap.

Hey man, seriously, who is your insurance provider? You are getting raped on that price. That is totally friggin' rhidiculous. You should shop around for something, way way cheaper. How old are you by the way? And like NismoPick said... If those accidents weren't your fault, they shouldn't count against you man. Reevaluate your options bro'. I am pretty sure you can do way better, and cheaper for your premiums. I am 32, and I have 2 '82 280zx's liability. And they are only $84 and some change a month. (for both) It is called a multiple car discount. And I have a renter's insurance, even though I pay a mortgage.
All aside, yeah definately look into something else. Just trying to help you out brother. Good luck to you, on what you find out.

you could always swap in your own SR.... the already swapped 510's arent cheap if you can find them.
