sometimes it'd kind of hard to judge costs, for comparison one can buy an rb20det motor (rated at 215hp) with ecu, harness, clutch/flywheel, and 5 speed tranny for 800 bucks. In 240zs in california, that's a potent swap because smog is no longer an issue. Of couse, parts are somewhat impossible to come by since the motor was never offerred in the states

A P90 head is not worth $300. Even with low miles you'll be lucky to get $150 for it. A turbo engine in general would be worth $300-400 but you can also buy a compelte turbo 280zx for that much if you look around. It all depends on where you live because these parts are nearly impossible to ship. (and not very cost effective)

The engine with low miles like that and the tranny I would think could go for $400-500 as a fair price to the owner of the parts assuming all is very clean and in great shape. If you ask more you still might be able to sell it if you find just the right buyer in your area. I suppose someone might pay more thinking it will be cheaper than a rebuild on their own engine.

The head alone is not worth that much. I have seen them sell for $100-200 and as a point of reference one just sold on eBay for $152.49, here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2413529482

Owning 8 cars and overpaying for your parts doesnt' make you the final word. Stop promoting yourself. We're just talking about the value of parts. You live in Washington, don't you? You should know how cheap turbo Z's go for up here. On the east coast, that's another story...

Also, a factory head with 60K miles is not the same as a freshly rebuilt P90 as your comparing them as though they are worth the same. Did Nissan do a 3-angle on the P90 from the factory?
That eBay auction says the head is low mile, so it may be used as is. Just like someone who buys the head in question may use it as is; being it only has 60K miles on it. If you want to rebuild a high mile P90 they can be had for under $100 easily on Zcar.com's classifieds or at a junk yard/private party parting out a Z.

I guess you can ask whatever you want for the parts, but I was letting you know might take a while to sell a P90 for $300.

I am going with Bleach on this one. Washington State has some good Pull N Saves and Z parts are easy to come buy. I autocrossed a 240Z last year with the 280 turbo transplant, and the guy bought the donor car for $400. A fair price for a used L28ET shouldn't be much more then
$600 complete in stock condition.

Prices on turbo engines sure has risen in the last 3 years too. Where they may have been worth only $400 in 2003 I commonly see a complete turbo engine sell for 700-800 in Washington now...
