FS: 82' 280zx 5spd. N/A Project (SO CAL)

Well unfortunately the military told me i'm moving to the UK and i'll have to sell my 82' 280zx before I leave. I'll try to be as descriptive as I possibly can! If you have any other questions let me know!

I bought the car about two months ago for $1500. It had been sitting for three years and hadn't been touched. I bought it from the second owner who had owned it since 1998! And he bought it from an 80 year old lady! The clock shows 164k and unfortunately hadn't ran in quite some time. Car has a clean AZ title.

The owner told me he was driving and was having problems with a leaking injector... Instead of fixing it he decided to park it. Thankfully I rescued the car and towed it to my house. Within 10 minutes it was started and backed into my garage! I was smitten!

Since it has been in my garage I have replaced several parts on the car with every intention of restoring it the right way. First was the engine. I replaced the oil (10w30), drained the fuel, changed the plugs (OEM), cap, rotor, ignition control module, drained the coolant, swapped the fuel filter, etc. I went through and any hose that showed wear, cracking, fatigue, etc., it was replaced. I finished changing all the fluids in the engine and got it degreased and looking good. I also changed the fuel injector blocks (old ones were cracked or missing) and changed the seals on all of the injectors.

Next was the brakes and suspension. The back has been fitted with TOKIKO Blues ($300) , brand new OEM calipers and rotors ($200), drained the brake fluid and bled the system completely. The Parking brake cable was spongy so It was disconnected. More than likely moisture intruded into the cable and gummed it up a bit. It was never cut.

The interior is in fair shape. I fitted a Alpine digital media head unit into the car. The ipod cable comes out of the ash tray. I also fitted JL TR series 6x9s into the pockets behind the seat. The sound system alone is worth $500!

The exterior is in great shape as well. It has a fresh primer coat on it and is ready to be painted to your liking.

As the title states, the car is a project. There are a few slight issues, and again I never intended on selling this car so soon! The car does have a slight cold start issue. It wont fire on the first try, but starts on the second try like clock work. The exhaust will also need replacing. The muffler is blown out on the bottom and is causing the car to run a little lumpy. Once warm the car runs well. I did notice that the suspension bushings seemed a bit loose mainly to the car being older and quite a few miles on the vehicle. The power steering also squeeks a little under full lock. None of these problems are major whatsoever.

This really is a good project with great potential. It just sucks that I received PCS orders and have to leave here soon. I'm asking $1,000 firm. It will need to be tailored away. I will have pictures up tomorrow morning. Please feel free to ask any questions! Thanks a lot!
