My Z is up for sale again (240z)

Well, For a while, I had decided not to sell her. I got attached. But now I have the opportunity to get another TT. That's enough persuasion for me. So this Z has got to go. It's a 73 240z with 54K orig miles! The passenger side visor is signed by Mr. K (VERY neat.)
Pros:
In good condition (awesome 20 footer)
54K orig miles
signed by Mr. K
matching numbers
little to no rust. (nothing more than superficial--little surface on the underside of the hood that I will sand off and coat if I get the time)
new electrical system
400 watt stereo
etc etc etc
Cons:
not perfect (20 footer, not show car....yet)
paint cracks on the hood/roof(minor)
Interior panels are old (73)
needs a tune up (valves adjusted, points adjusted, cap&rotor, maybe a carb rebuild)
It runs really rich, but still strong
etc etc

I'll post more tomorow.

This Z has been restored by th PO. It was an amateur job, but not too bad of a job. He stripped the car down the the metal and zinc chromated it to prevent rust. He then converted the interior to black from that ugly peanut butter interior it originally had. The motor was slightly overhauled as it had been sitting for a while. The head was rebuilt including a 3 angle valve joba dn a port and polish. The original flat tops were changed out to the better round top carbs. The car was painted 2000 Corvette millenium yellow. I just replaced the whole electrical system since that 400 watt stereo was too much for the old alternator. I replaced the alternator(lifetime warranty), voltage regulator, grounds, and fuses. I've also added an Optima battery (orange top) with a "custom" battery tie down(Kragen special--adjustable tie down with the tie down screws.) The Z has the original L24 motor with the original 4spd tranny. The tranny shifts smooth and the clutch grabs well. I'll post some pics as well.

Sorry, I'm asking a negotiable $5500. Make an offer though! I have thought about ebay...I may eventually, but then it has the possibility to not go to an enthusiast. I care about this car and want it to go to a good home.

Yeah I put my '75 Firebird on there for a couple weeks. She only went to about $660.00. Please don't insult me, I have put way more into her than that! I have had her since '97. But I understand you want her to go to a good home. That is a nostalgic Z none the less! Good luck to you man, I am sure somebody will come along and appreciate that fine machine!

Thanks...nostalgia is a good word. This Z is constantly getting worked on. The bottom of the hood is now coated. The rear view mirror, and windshield wipers are painted black...like they should have been in the first place(the car looks SOOO much better now even then it did before). And the air cleaner has been refreshed (looks new). I just bought an electronic e12-80 dizzy and I'm waiting for it to be shipped. If I replace/rebuild the carbs and adjust the valves, the price of this car will go up unless I decide I love her too much and decide not to sell AGAIN!

No not yet, I did mention it a few times on here. I found a few Firebird forums online. But I want to get a battery, and do a couple more things before I put her up for sale again. Thanks for asking, she really doesn't do me much good sitting in my driveway. Because of the gas and all. She runs like a top, a little over 3k on a rebuilt engine. With all kinds of new parts.

If I were in your position, I would keep her, and restore her to original beauty! But that is just me, I get real attached to my cars. I mean I own 5 of them, but I need to make room for another Z. I am looking at getting an older 280z, I want it to have a 5-speed, no 4! That is what I like.

Anyway it sounds like a really sweet running Z, that you have! It also sounds like you have dumped quite a bit of money into her. I think your price is pretty good, considering what it is, and who signed it!

I've thought about keeping it a billion times, but I'd be willing to give her up if I could get another TT, which I'm in the process of getting one right now. So she's got to go.
