For sale 1983, 280 ZX Tee Body In Great Shape

Well Boyz and Girlz what I have here is a 280ZX Tee to Coupe that has a GREAT BODY. Only 1 hole that I can find and 2 spots of rust that are not through yet. I started this as a project car and was going to rebuild the engine (has a blowen head gasket) and the body was going to be painted Black Cherry with a black aqnd silver interior. Well since I have a much BIGGER PROJECT that needs much restoration (a 1912 farm house) I have decided to go with that. Well, all 82 and 83 280ZX's have that kind of hood. Even the non-turbo.
Can't you buy those covers for $60 a pair from Motorsport auto?

so if you fell insalted then fine your asking price was an insualt to all who are looking to buy a zx.

hes asking $1200.00 for it when some one says it is in GREAT BODY taht means that it needs almost no work at all im sorry but it needs alot of work. Im not saying that its a bad car or not worth buying at all im saying is that for that price you can find a z car in better form.

Yeah, here in AZ. you can get a 280ZX in pretty good shape with newer paint and whatever that needs no work for around $1000-$1500. I've even seen them for less. I payed $1600 for my '82, but I didn't really know too much about Z's at the time and payed WAY too much. Since then, I've put at least $2500 into mechanical only, and still need paint and a little interior work. I'll never be able to sell this car, but then, why would I??

My advice to ANY prospective Z buyer is to wait 'til a deal comes along. IT WILL!!

From the looks of the 1 pic that's posted, I'd say that's a $600-$1000 car, give or take. Looks to me like there's some right-front damage...

Well all I am saying folks, Is if you are not intrested then don't buy it. as I might of said I am in a position to sit on the car and do not have to sell it for the money. I want to sell it for the room. So it can just sit here. So don't bitch about the price. and the body is in great shape with only one hole in the spare tire well.

No.

A body in GREAT shape doesn't need work. A great body should look decent for its age - it shouldn't NEED paint (although it could use it) and it definatly shouldn't have holes in it. Rust spots are also a big no on a great body.

I would say yours is probably in the goodish range. It IS a 20something year old car, and its obviously not going to be out of the showroom. I consider my z in decent condition. No body rust, one small small hole in the floor to the lower left of my clutch (not a rust spot.. not actually sure where it came from). It has some primer on the hood where the person who had it before me did not finish repainting.

I bought mine for 500 bucks... it needed windshield wipers, heat (grr) and other minor things. Condition wise it seems to be in the same range as your car. I don't know if you would be able to sell for 1200. I would start with around 9.

Thanks for the Good Luck with the house. I have riped the inside down to the studs, floor and joists are gone and new being installed with sub-floor. Low 'E' windows on order and clap board are on the way from the mill. Guess the 'Z' will have to sit in the barn for a bit longer. And no you are not rude, after all we all have diffrent perseptions of what great is for a 20 year old car.

personaly if i was selling one of my z car(which i dont think i could or would ) i would ask myself would i buy it for this price.

so since you dont know me dont say im rude if you take some things too much to the hart then thats your bad, not mine.

I always have much love for all z owners and would do what i can in my power to help a z owner out enyway posibal.I might not be 100% the nicest guy in the world but i am not rude and being a retierd homland sucrity agent i have seen rude.

so enjoy the ride ,and smile and lear to take some lafter with the citec.

and yes im not very good a spelling but thats ok you can get the jist of what im saying.
