custom made parts

Ok first off posting this is prolly a waste of time here but...I'm making my own poly differential mount and phenolic plenum and throttle body spacers.
There will be enough material left over to make 4 plenum spacers, at least 4 TB spacers and 3 poly diff mounts. I can either take the loss on the excess materials or I can make the parts and sell them to z31 owners. Ebay is a possibility too. The plenum spacers would fit z31's, older Maxima and D21/WD21 models. The TB spacers would work for even more models.
The phenolic spacers would be made of 3/8" Garolite GR10-FR and sell for $50 shipped w/ hardware for the plenum and $30 shipped w/ hardware for the TB. The TB spacers would work with stock, 240sx 60mm, or Stanza 60mm throttle bodies.
Hardware would be: longer socket head screws. Stainless steel for the TB spacers.
The poly diff insulators would be made of polyurethane and aluminum or a combination of aluminum and stainless steel.

I'm not starting a business. This is a one-time deal and like I said I doubt there is much interest in these parts here anyway.

I'd be interested in the throttle body spacer for the 240sx 60mm.... but there are plastic spacers going on ebay from time to time for $20-$30.

Only if you want to use the stock throttle linkage. Or you turn it clockwise 180* and use a cable throttle.

EDIT... for the 280zx's... I'm not talking about Z31's.

Then buy one if that's what you're looking for
The spacers all have the same mounting bolt spacing and 60mm bore. They would fit s130 (w/ a Stanza/240sx 60mm TB), z31, z32, 89-92 240sx and Stanza.

Meh... plastic + lots of heat = not so good results. Aluminum is better.

Actually that isn't true. This material is rated for an operating temp of a little less than ~300F. Your intake (or anything else under the hood except a turbocharger) isn't going to even get close to that. If it did you'd have already experienced serious problem like your intake connectors melting...battery exploding...etc. If your TB gets anywhere over 100F you have a problem already.
Plastic, or in this case GR10-FR has much less thermal conductivity than aluminum. Go with what you're comfy with.

Lightbulb Now with pics Part I

Just had time to get some pics of it mounted. I'll have it off tomorrow so I'll get some pics of it. If I make any more I'll have to get a countersink bit or use elevator bolts. The heads of the flanged bolts that attach the poly mount to the aluminum plate would prevent the plate from mounting flush so I had to cut and grind. Cutting off the head of a bolt and grinding the flange down to an acceptable level is a PITA and takes too much time.

Here I'm trying to get a shot of the mounting surface to the centerline of the diff studs. My stock mount is 3 1/8. It's really close but there isn't enough room to take a looksee. Not sure how much difference would be acceptable.

The "negative" heat conductivity of the Garolite is amazing.

Keeping the holes centered is tough with a hand drill. A drill press would be really cool.

The 3/4" aluminum spacer.

The screws I bought for the 3/8" spacers were just long enough to catch with the 3/4" spacers.

The TB is stock 54mm. Don't ask me what the nut and bolt are for. The TB was like that when I got it.

I forgot to take pics of my 1" delrin spacer. I'm thinking about seeing if one of these aluminum spacers is thick enough for an IAT sensor. Or maybe I'll mount the sensor on the plenum and use one of the garolite spacers. I think I'm going to put an aluminum spacer on the Pathy. I'll have 9 of them...
No progress on the plenum spacer yet.

Diff mounts all sold... not that anybody here cares
Ended up making six phenolic spacers and nine aluminum spacers. Still have three or four 3/8" phenolic spacers and six 3/4" aluminum spacers.
