CA Drivers!!!!
I found this on another Z site. If you are a cali driver and you get pulled over a lot like we know we all do, this will keep those ****in pigs at bay. Throw the law right back in there ****ing ugly, power abusing faces!!! Keep this **** in your Z or mod'd car at all times just like proof of insurance
"Basically the thing to show the cops is (if your exhaust really it legal like HKS exhausts):
This is a link to HKS website (other manufactureres should have the same stuff), and it clearly states that HKS exhausts complies with Sections 27150, 27151 & 27200 of the California Vehicle Code; and Title 13 of the California code of Regulations, Section 10361, which establishes a noise limit of 95dB(A) for passenger cars.
HKS Disclaimer
Also, you will probably need to carry a copy of all those Sections on CVC with you guys and let those dumbass cops read it on the spot. Obviously cops are misinformed and by telling me "ALL EXHAUSTS ARE ILLEGAL" he just confirmed that he was an idiot and did not do his homework in police academy.
CVC Sections:
27150- Basically says that you need to have a muffler on your car.
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc27150.htm
27151- Basically says that the noise coming from your muffler cannot be louder than 95db at 5000rpm.
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc27151.htm
27200- Is a bunch of BS designed to confuse you, but in reality just section 27151 rephrased.
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc27200.htm
So if at the time of the stop, my car:
1. Had a muffler with no exhaust leaks
2. Had the noise level under 95db
3. Did not have any bypasses or cutouts.. "
