Explains your fascination with the ocean.

I, too, am descended from pilgrims. I also have Cherokee blood, so I'm a bit conflicted.

sweety--i am so inbred--just the 8 mayflower families i came from--no dam injuns, dammit. not until my generation--my son is 1/4 apache, 1/4 lazy mez., and 1/2 brainy, inbred pilgrim. at least we do not have flat faces or iq's in the double digits!! and we do not marry our sisters/brothers/cousins any more.!!!
you are lucky to have cherokee blood--education is spozed to be less expensive for you??? benes from being redskin???? sure hope so--a kid in RPI when iwent to college was getting educated on the usa bedcause he was a injun. cherokee. sigma phi epsilon, 1967. i am old.

i do not unnerstan' my fascination with the ocean--my great uncle was a tall shipman, merchant marine--tallships--round the world--he taught us how to sail in a smaller tallship--1903 gaff-rigged sloop built by nate herreschoff.. registered as a national historic treasure, now sitting on a cradle in the newport, ri, maritime museum.

they shudda kept the mayflower for me. dang.

Not enough Cherokee blood for me to be considered a minority. I look Irish (fair skin, blond hair) cause I'm about 1/3 Irish and 2/3 mutt. I learned to sail at a young age. Haven't been on a sailboat since 'bout 20 years ago. I'm also related to the first mate from the USS Constitution. I loves the ocean, too. Favorite food... anything that lives in the ocean (as long as it's cooked. Sushi = yuck).

Sounds cool.

My 2/3 mutt side is Scottish, English (mom's family), Cherokee, and French (father's family). My 1/3 Irish is from my father's family. My last name is Britt, but the family's was originally Brett. The immigration worker at Ellis Island wrote it down wrong when my great-great grandfather came over from Ireland. I guess the accent threw them off.
