homework

can someone please f-ing help me with chem homework? this is ridiculous. i've got the answer, but the site that i have to submit it on isn't taking it in my form. wrong sig digits or something. i know there are some smart people on here! i'll be doing an all nighter, so if you can help at any time, you rock.

the problem is that i have to find the volume of the container that has 133.48g of mercury in it. d=13.53 g/cm^3.

yeah i know, it's simple. i've done this since 9th grade. but the computer doesn't give me partial credit for not geting sig figs right.

i've come up with 9.865. the number is longer, but i have to answer with the least number of sig figs that my data has. (4 in 13.53) it doesn't take that. or any thing else that i can come up with.

PLEASE!

Wouldn't 4 sig figs round to 9.866 from the 9.8655? And is the container cylindrical?

dont you have to have the shape of the container to find the volme?
not the ammount of mercury in it cause i could have a bottle with mercury in it and it will have the same volume if i dump alll the mercury out can you copy and paste the problm on here ill look at it since im closing here at work with nothing to do

well i didn't need to know the shape for this one because the problem was to find the volume using mass of the fluid and i was given the density. it ended up being a stupid mistake that was making me get it wrong. i'll let you know when i get to my next big hold up. thanks for all the suggestions.

lol they are accelerating particles near the speed of light i think they think they could almost reach it and then want them to collide, thats like splitting atoms, atomic bomb ****, worm holes from the speed of light, and dark matter, the kinda stuff that if true (which they think they obsreved in space) that if it touches other matter it turns into dark matter and so on and so on. similare to a black hole. they are really ****in with nature on this one... its cool and interesting, but im honestly concerned for the world future because if the **** hits the fan, its hitting hard!
