Ah yes... I've been there. 1k miles on my rebuilt L28ET I went cruising on a Friday night. A kid in one of those turbo Mazda Speed 6's was talkin up a storm so I told him lets go. I beat the shiz outta him (I have it on vid somewhere... just need to u/l it) and blew my headgasket. I had to get a buddy to tow my *** 30 miles home at 3am. That sucked!

Hey man, sorry to hear about that. All aside get a 280zx, they are the shiz man. That is why I have 3 of them. They are easy to aquire, and easy to work on. And parts are still pretty plentiful. Anyway hope you get want you want out of the S13. But glad to hear you are coming back to the Z family.

L28 - stock engines are cheap to buy used. actually, cheap to rebuild too right now until parts are NLA. At the same time, they are not comparable in horsepower or economy to an SR20DET. I was just saying that if I blew my L28, even the turbo one, a replacement is fairly cheap.
Boost creep - well, if your fuel system could handle 20psi, then creeping up to 17 would be no problem.
anyway, on the subject of boost creep, would this be due to an undersized wastegate? Are you running a turbo with internal? ...so the fix would have been an external wastgate? Just curious. I'm keeping my stock T28/T3 (whatever it is) and hoping for no more than 13psi. But I also want to shim up that factory POV to vent at 15psi so I don't end up like you!

honestly... i would go with the evo.. its a hella strong motor (originally designed to be a diesel) and has been around for soo long that parts are soo easy to find. they are easy to work on and make power really well.. i praise the 4g63 and always will. s2k is still a honda... lol... how can you go from nissan to honda? HOW!?!?! i could see to toyota or mitsubishi... MAYBE subaru (sept they are bitch to work on so not worth it just for that) but HONDA?!?!?! you monster...

hmm... well you do live in cali so youcan make a s2k a DD but around here id go evo all the way.. DSM would be next choice in car if it werent for the Z's. at times i wonder why i dotn just get a 4g63 (cause they are cheap as hell) mate it with a starion tranny and drop that in my 260z. cuase i have friends that know EVERYTHIONG TO EVERYTHING about the 4g63 motors...adn they are beasts. lol...

you would have to take an STI on a trail and jump it a few times before you can really apreciate it.. and besides arent they designed to be true rally cars?? i mean look at who's been winning in WRC
