Say what you like............ My friend at lockheed martin sent me a video a couple of years ago of a jet flying by a ship about a 100 feet off the deck while breaking the sound barrier. In slow motion you could see the vapor trail forming as a cone angled backwards off the nose of the plane. The vapor trail got progressively bigger until it hit supersonic. This is what it looked like at the point where you hear the sonic boom.

If I still had the vid, I'd post it. But then I guess it could have been faked too.

IT's real. I work with a bunch of Navy guys (being that I work at a naval command) and when I showed them the pic, they had all seen it in real life.
