Nahh, it is important to do it right. I just hope its not a child rapist or child murderer cause then I am gonna do my best to fry the *****....I hate to even think about that kind of stuff happening to my 9 year old daughter. But this must be done so I must do it the best I can. Anyway...later for now.

Yeah it's not that bad being chosen, unless your work doesn't pay for you to go to jury duty. My work paid for me to go as if I was still at work, which is really nice, plus I got to keep my whole $7 a day!!! Ha ha ha I can't believe they pay so little. Anyway, I got chosen on a malpractice case where this guy lost his eye...it was pretty cool and interesting being in the jury, instead of watching it on TV.

even up here jury duty pays nothing and anyones work is NOT obligated to pay for your time, they just have to hold your position. sometimes trials go for 2-3 years thanks to our slow legal system. the pickton trial is expected to go 3+ years. most ppl dont want jury duty because of finacial ruin.

I've never heard of an employer paying you for going to jury duty. Financial ruin is the main reason people don't want to go in the US.

Keep in mind not everyone on trial for a chrime is guilty. If they are there for child murder or something they may not have done it.

Me personally, I would never want to do jury duty. I don't like judging people, or anything like that. I have been summoned 3 or 4 times in my life. The couple, I couldn't because of my record. The other 2 I got lucky, and wasn't in the numbers that got picked to go.

Yeah I would probably say I am a racist, just to get out of it. I hate getting involved with stuff going on, that I want no part of. As for work paying for it, hah, yeah right. My job doesn't pay for me being on jury duty. So why the f$#k would I want to do it? Besides I hate it in the first place.

But thx, good luck to you, and hopefully you make the right decision, or decisions. I would not want to be in your position. Just my opinion

Well I am back from Jury Duty. Here in Pinellas County Florida it pays $15 a day for the first 3 days and $30 a day there after. It was kinda sad for the reason I was there. The defendant was a white male about 30 years old and was being accused of raping a minor girl. They would not tell us how old she is. I was the last perspective juror to be dismissed. The defense team was asking us how we felt about what alcohol does as far as lowering inhibitions and what not so I think there was some drinking involved in all of this.

The messed up thing is, we were let out for lunch and the defendant was parked 2 cars away from me. He was havin a good old time laughing it up with his buddy and what not. In the court room he was still as could be with no emotions to speak of. I did my job though and told the truth on how I felt about the questions and all...and they get personal when they ask questions.

too bad you cannot do jury duty by telephone, as they have me do----i guess nursies are a detriment to the jury pool..............giving bad ideas to everyone else......heehee.....i havent had to go downtown either of the two times in the last 3 years i have had to do jury dooty....... and they especially do not want me in the jury because i am also a forensics nursie----sexual assault response team trained......

There's always another side to the story.
How do you know it wasn't some 17 year old who lied and said she was 21 or something. Maybe she was in a bar. Then later on her parents found out what happened and THEY filed charges. Things aren't always what they seem.

...but if it was some 20 year old who got phowned and a 17 year old then I say fry him! He shouldn't be having sex anyway, he should be on Zdriver.com

I didn't know....I am sure justice will be done, if he did it then hopefully he will get his, if he didn't do it then he should get off.
