L28et hits 600hp *no nitrous*

Turbo is a GT4294R

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOG9CXz2gsQ

"this was done at
~85degF ambient,
25psi boost
94 octane sunoco gas
no nitrous
no water or meth injection
it's a stroked L28 with an N42 head"

Yeah, that's a pretty sick motor. Didn't we have a discussion about this one a few months ago? I remember people disliking that valve cover color... He's a Hybridz'r isn't he?

Yeah, he's on hybridz. That is an insane amount of power on a L28 though. Can you imagine driving that beast on the streets

thats just teh sound of a high powered engine, im used to it lol, its just what rich engines on high boost do when you let off, its still running like your at WOT at 20+ psi and you let go and it dumps the **** it the BOV goes no more air PSI there and on teh next stroke it blows that **** up cause there was too much gas in there. any who, i knew it wasnt older than me, look close, REALLY CLOSE, only the valve cover is done, not teh block, the olderthanme guy did teh WHOLE engine.

Sorry but you are what i assume wrong there the system this guy runs is NOT using an AFM it from recollection it runs a MAP like MsS
Smoking like it was means something like a ~9 AFR. I don't know how the dyno showed 11 smoking like that
It looks like he's running gasoline as anti-detonant..

haha and i have ITBS aswel they rock (read faster pick up ) LOL !!!

Here are some of the details given at hybridz.

"For the first several runs, I was running way richer than I had been when I street tuned - the culprit was later found to be that the manifold air temps were considerably higher on boost than what I was seeing in the real world - like peak temperatures of 132 degF vs. 94degF on the street. This was not being compensated for. My initial target for AFR was 10.5:1 and the car was in fact running down in the 9's for the first several runs. If you do the math this makes sense given the temperature difference. The first run netted "only" ~501rwhp.

The reason for the rich target mixture was because of the high exhaust temps that I was seeing with leaner mixtures, as was discussed not long ago in this forum."

He ended up around 11.5:1 for the last two runs. The explosion was the due to hitting the rev limiter. Unburned fuel igniting in the exhaust. I get that sometimes on upshifts. Scares the hell out of me.
