nope. get another Z quit being a bitch. why didnt you just fix the S130. it would have been so cheap to get some rod/piston assembly's and new rod bearings. weekend work. ****, i have stock rod/piston assembly in my basement, full set of 6. and a crank. and a block. and another crank. and another full set of pistons and rods. and several heads....

i thought you had a 600? as for the 10's on the bike get a nice and sticky rear tire with an extended swing arm and a chain and sprockets for when you take it the track. other then that launch it in second keep the front wheel hovering off the ground through second and dont use the clutch to shift if you have strait cut gears in the trans. (found most bikes shifts a LOT smoother without the clutch)
edit: also you have to beat my best of 10.43 on my stock R1

yeah that was my fastest pass on that bike. front wheel never touched the whole time had to try and keep it from creeping up during the torque band too lol. i was told by my brother that i passed the 1/4 and my front tire wasnt even spinning. ill try to find the pic. i enjoy road racing more though

Well here's my stupid story. So like a month ago I replaced the hood sensor for the anti-theft system on the Z31, and I also replaced the CHTS along with its accompanying sub harness. Anyway weather gets crappy. Like a month later I finally go to pull the car out, it has a hell of a time starting up and the idle sounds really poppy. Anyway I go and check the ECU's codes. CHTS code. This was kind of annoying, until I realized I forgot to plug the new sub harness connector back into the main harness. Plugged it in and that problem is gone. Z31 runs great now! I need to take some pics as I've spent time washing it, clay baring, scratch x, polishing, then waxing the car.
As for my 280ZX the interior has been stripped, the motor and trans have been pulled out of the car and today I pulled the manifolds off. Exhaust manifold was checked with a straight edge and is in good shape, doesn't need any resurfacing. I found the bolts holding the intake/exhaust manifolds together where rather loose. Probably because of how hard a time I had getting to them. This was probably why I had an exhaust leak and a boost leak. I'm going to start cleaning up my N42 manifold and get that ready to go with my palnet rail, we're going to power wash the motor and then paint it. Finally do the solid lifter and N/A cam conversion.
I can't wait to drive it again, last time I drove it was with 10 psi, a boost leak, Z31 ECU setup and automatic transmission. Next time I drive it it'll have the 2.5" MSA downpipe into a 3" exhaust, mated to a 5-speed, no catalytic converter, n/a cam and solid lifters, all in a lighter weight car.

i would do a minor rebuild while its out, clean all those manifolds do some porting sent the head to the machine shop get it rebuilt with new springs and seals and the works, get a better than NA cam while your in there, better HG re-do the timing chain, and ARP head stud it maybe even main stud it. but you can get to those while the engine is in the car in an S30, though it is a little cramped. also please please clean the block and paint it and oil pan. this is teh best time to get that stuff out of the way. don't cut corners while your at an advantage.

Don't worry the block and oil pan definitely will be cleaned up and painted. What color should I paint it? I'm debating on whether I want to do the head while it's out or not.
Either way I'm definitely excited about getting rid of the power steering pump, and A/C Compressor and their brackets as that will free up some room. I think the N42 manifold and palnet rail should really help. Also should I get the valve cover polished or paint it? I still got a little time as I'm waiting on my clutch and flywheel anyway. Once it's all back in the car then I'll get a custom exhaust made up. Anyone have recommendations on mufflers? I want something that makes a nice sound, but at the same time is calm and kinda quiet while cruising. Really just want it to get good sounding when you open it up.

i like polishing it with accenting paints. as far as the valve cover goes. for blocks im a HUGE fan of a low gloss black, great with heat and doesn't show dirt but since it is low gloss you can still see oil leaks if you are looking for them. which i recommend doing once a week. the oil pan is what ever will accent the rest of the car. i really suggest doing some head work while its all there and available save you time down the road. and since you are going to do that might as well toss in a new performance cam they are cheap as hell anyways. since its off get a good head gasket and ARP stud it cause stock is for pu$$ie$ lol. really will help with the power the engine can take to, the weakest part on a stock motor imho is the HG and bolts for the head.

I figure I should get a hold of larger injectors and a walboro pump as well. May as well get those hooked up and ready to go right off the bat. Right now it sounds like the weakest part of this whole build may end up being the stock N/A 5-speed, but it still seems like the Nissan 5-speeds are pretty darn tough.
I should probably order some intercooler piping via ebay. Oh and get the tokico illumina sturts/springs set while I'm at it. I was debating going with the Illuminas and Eibach springs as that's what is on my Z31 and I really like it, but to buy the tokico set is I believe a few hundred cheaper. Money that can go to headwork or something. Anyone have opinions on the tokico springs vs the eibachs?

I'd buy it! If I weren't already in the process of doing the swap myself. By the way Nismo did you ever really take time out to compare up the wiring harnesses? I still need a nice day to finish pulling the harness out of my 280ZX. Every day has been rainy, then finally we get today where it's nicer and I have to go to work.
As far as my swap goes I'm hoping to get it done in a few weeks or so, basically it depends on what I do to the motor and how long the work takes, once we actually are ready to put it back in, that won't take long at all. Just looking forward to having two fun cars for the summer. The Z31 and the Turbo S30.
