I can't quite answer this question. I love my Z31T, but I also want a Z32TT. I really have little interest in the later models, unless they start coming with turbos, too. Do they yet?

after owning several z32's i can honestly say i hate the vg30D series. it might still be a technological marvel from the early 90's but its still a pig, i dont care how much that TT can make with a "few mods" if i have to pull the motor to do something as simple as changing turbo's then they obviously ****ed up somewhere. instead of putting a bunch of money into A/C and or folding mirrors, could they have mounted the turbo's up front or down low where we can fix them without pulling the entire damn motor!!!!!!!!!

No just aftermarket. I've heard no plans of a 370Z turbo.....but it does put out 332 hp without one so they probably thought why bother...

Because 332 ain't enough! And you still don't feel that wonderful boost feeling.

Yeah, that's the one thing that scares me. I'm getting to old to pull god damned motors! I don't like working on cars much anymore. My back ain't so good after 3 freaking surgeries. I will because I hate to pay the ridiculous prices they charge now days, but I don't like it.

So let me get back to the original question 5 pages ago:
"What do you think is the best generation Z and why."

I think the S30 is the best generation mainly because it contains the
1st Series of the 1st generation of the 240Z. And the reason is, that
that is that car which Yoshihiko Matsuo and his group designed circa 1965
and which Yutaka Katayama put his career on the line to get brought to
this country.

Datsun had struggled since 1958 to get a toehold in the US market, and it
wasn't till the 510 was introduced in late 1967 that some headway began
to be made. But when the 240Z was introduced in late 1969, that is
when things began to take off like the proverbial rocket. I know, because
I was with Bob Sharp back in the day. So I conclude that without the
original Z Car, there would never have been any following generations, and
we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

BTW as the Z Car evolved into successive generations beginning with the
S130, the car became more and more of a GT car and less and less of a
sports car. As additional creature comforts and "gee-whiz features" and
"bells and whistles" were added from 1979 to 1995, sales went down vir-
tually every year, so that tells us a little something about what the buying
public thought. Consequently, by the mid-90's the Z became a losing prop-
osition and had to be dropped from production for economic reasons.

That said, I for one am very glad that the Z line was re-introduced in 2003,
because with it came a resurgence in interest in every type of Z Car.

FWIW,..............All Z Best,................Rick (and Kathy, of course)
