'71 2.8L 240Z Loaded with Track/Street Equipment
The Z comes with a Corbeau racing seat (in one of the photos) and a full set of 4 swastika wheels (with lugs and caps) and an extra color-matched BRE air dam in almost perfect shape. I switched the steering wheel back to an original 240Z wood wheel.
some of the specs/equipment:
--2.8L N42 block/ E31 head--new within last 5K miles
--medium cam; synthetic oil always
--coated headers, 2.5" exhaust
--K&N filters
--roll cage
--Tokico Illumina adjustables and Tokico red springs all around
--electric fan
--slotted disc's all around
--currently has very sticky Yoko's on the 15" wheels
--Wilwood brake porportioning valve
--adjustable fuel pressure line
--electric fuel pump
--front/rear strut bars
--front/rear sway bars
--quick ratio Mustang steering rack (power steering, but I just disconnected the pump--still have belt)
--280Z 5-speed tranny with short shift
--clean dash (no cracks!)
--aluminum racing pedals
--power side-view mirrors
--Color--rare paint--Yellow pearl (metallic)--only available on one year 300ZX
--only known issues--scratch on front right valence that needs to be touched up (I have some extra paint--expensive stuff)--see photo on truck; clock doesn't work; small split in weld seam on old muffler (doesn't affect performance or make the car any louder, but a new muffler would be in order at some point); decent stereo is only hooked up to one speaker.
--car pulls great (very strong--quickest of all my 70-71's) and handles extremely well--tight; no known issues and nothing to hide with this car.
Background: I am a Z (as well as other sports cars) enthusiast--this is my 4th 70-71.. I recently purchased the car from a Z specialty shop in Houston. The car belonged to a wealthy elderly woman who autocrossed the car. She acquired it in '98 and the Z shop did all of the work/maintenance on it and know EVERYTHING about the car. The elderly woman contracted terminal cancer and the shop bought the car from her. The car was such a good deal, and with the reliable history/maintenance, I just couldn't turn it down. It's very cool and drives handles great, but I came across another "gotta-have-it" car, and I really can't practically have 3 sports cars at my house (my other sports car is a Lotus Elise SC). I would love to keep it to drive on the weekends, but I don't really drive on the weekends--they're spend w/ kids (3,7) and kids' activities!
Price is $9.5K FIRM. Serious parties only--please. See extra photos below. --Bill 619-384-4357 wrrii@hotmail.com
