Moving Overseas, have to sell my baby
I will be moving in the next year. Probably November or December. My wife and I have been praying about this for awhile and we are going to be moving to Hong Kong. So while this is both exciting and frightening at the same time, it means selling most of the things I hold dear. Including my Z.
I have had alot of Z's over the years and finally settled down to two. Last year finances forced me to sell my '73. I have been working on the '75 and had no intention of ever selling it. I even evaluated taking it with me but the cost of shipping it and the cost of driving it there proof to be too much. So I have to sell it.
I am the 3rd owner. It has about 81K original. Checking the original pads, this can defiantly be believed. The previous owner took it down to parts and sandblasted and completly repainted it Aztec red. I no longer have the gold wheels. I have Outlaw II style wheels on it. Formuling type 13" steering wheel, full 4-point roll bar. The interior is extremly clean. No rips. '80 5-speed with 2+2 clutch and pressure plate. The front and rear bumpers have been shaved and are flush, which gives it a somewhat of a Bulldog look. '83 turbo hood scoop has been grafted on the hood. Engine very clean. Runs beautiful.
This is my daily driver. It looks and runs so great. I love my car. I get looks all the time and offers for it. But I want a true Z lover to have it. I have literally a truckload of parts (extra 5-speed, electrical parts out the ying-yang) that can go with it. I have it appraised for $10K. For insurance purposes, they would only carry it to $6500 so if anything ever happened I would get that much cash (insurance companies have this stigma on cars that are 30 years old?) So I got the voucher (from Huber in Tulsa, the guys that restore Ferraris and classics, so they definatly understated the value) saying it was worth $6500. Wah. But it was covered.
So I am asking for the same $6500. I know I cannot get what its worth or what I have in it. And I know I cannot buy and built one like it for $6500. No way. But it is definatly worth it and I defiantly do not want to sell.
