Well, I know I didn't imagine it... What ever it was, it was real... Screen shots don't lie (unless they're Doctored and I don't have the skillz or the time for that)

you've got funky skins on your Windows OS. You should get used to glitches.

Yeah, got it today, but I think it may be the wrong one. Pin-outs are different. I think it may be from an older model. Car would'nt even start...

Well, without going into detail, I found out a couple of things. My ECU was contantly making fuel dump into the cylinders. Even with the just on the "on" position, the fuel pump was running constantly. The new ECU won't even start the pump at all, so no fuel. I looked it up in the Haynes and notice the '79 and '80 ECU are vastly different in what the ECU's do, compared to an '82. Not sure about the '81 ECU or how different they are. So it looks like the "new" ECU is from a '79 or '80 from what I can tell. I can't afford another, so I'm just not sure what I'm gonna do at this point...

Hard wire your fuel pump. IMO it should be done that way anyway. Just run hot wire to the fuel pump w/ a fuse & switch, or get a bit more technical & wire up a relay.

I also hear that '83 is unique.
You can probably only use 1981 or 82 ECUs. Or better yet, just 1982.

Well, it turned out to be a '79 ECU, so it doesn't even have O2 capabilities. Not usable...

Thanks for the idea, though...

Hey Carl, I am watching a couple of ECU's right now on E-bay. They are '81's out of a manual car. One is $25 plus shipping, and the other is $75 plus shipping.
