SVRA @ Vir
The season is winding down. The SVRA ( SVRA.com ) is having its last event of '04 at Virginia International Raceway ( VIRCLUB.com ) next weekend 10/ 15-17.
We will have our Z Car out in Group 10. There will also be a couple more in the DOT tire class. We expect a few 510s as well.
In addition to the Datsuns there will be a '94 Benneton F1 car which set the track record there at this event last season. No doubt he will be on the record mission again. In the ultra rare category ... Pat Ryan will be in the Mark Donahue 1967 Chevy Camaro Z 28 light weight. This is THE car that is covered in Mark's book "The Unfair Advantage." Pat gives the car a great run every time on the track.
On top of those goodies the Sports 2000 group has put together a field of over 30 cars for this event. This is larger than the SCCA Runoffs in any recent year. This should be one of the most hotly contested races of the weekend.
The weather is looking just as outstanding as the field of great cars. The Fall colors will be out for good photos also. Camping is available.
We are looking forward to getting the car out and hope to do well. If you are in the area make sure to make it out for at least one of the days or all three. If you do come by the trailer and say hello.
We will be at Carolina Motorsports Park the following weekend for the Triangle Z Club DE event which has free admission if VIR is too far.
Thanks,
Alan
