I really hope I can make this so I can have a better shot at the trophy at the end of the year.

I think it was the fact that so many people have different ideas about what they want from a car club. Some people are interested in performance, some are interested in looks, some just want a social outlet. I think that's why the BWW group is still going strong. They have enough people showing up to make the group appeal to everyone, no matter the reason. The Z group and G groups are small so if you have an event that focuses on racing and you lose the casual and appearance-oriented people, you only have a few people show up.
I have made the suggestion to Mike we might want to start combining together for some meetings, events, etc. to try to get a steady group going. I know from our side, Ty and I are open for most events. Everyone else is pretty hit-and-miss.
Sorry to hijack the thread, I just noticed Rob's comment and felt the need to put in my one cent worth...

Don't worry Brian, I am not feelin the pressure. I did this for a couple of reasons. One, to get more people involved in bieng a part of the club, not just someone who posts up on the boards, and two, I am just too busy right now. I have 8 shopping centers that I am trying to lease out right now at work on top of working on 3 vacant land sales. Then on top of that I have finals in two weeks, and trying to be Mr. Home Improvement before the fam comes in from Cali. Once summer hits and school is over I will probably have time to start organizing things again. Thank you for your concern though.

I pre-registered to run the SCCA autocross in my 350Z, but now I see that I will not be able to make it. Again. The PCA is going to be at the outside road course that same weekend. It was a tough choice. NOT. Less than 10 minutes of seat time at the autocross or more than 2 hours of track time with the Porsche Club.

It is shown in an old configuration in the 2nd photo, but you can see where it is in relation to the big track.

Sure you can come out and play in the Drivers Ed groups. All it takes is $125 / day, a SA helmet and a car that will pass tech. Here is a link to the Intermountain Regions web site with all the registration info you need. http://vista.pca.org/int/clubracing1.htm

I went! It was a long fast course with average time around 70 sec. We got 4 runs. I thought we had 5 runs so I was pretty disappointed when I pulled up for for my final "*****-out-I-dont-care-if-i-DNF" run and was told I could not go again. But oh well. The best cars (like Ray and others) were in the 60-62 sec. range. I hit a 68.0...and I never hit a cone on any of my runs! I wish some of you guys would have been there to tell me to turn the damn VDC off. The first two runs had the VDC on. The last two I did not. I was able to shave 4 sec off of my time by throwing the car around with it off. Also, I almost rearended one of the S2k guys. (Not Kareem) They were staggering starts by like 15-20 seconds and I was gaining ground on him the whole course. I came across the finish line about 1 second behind him. It was kinda scary, but I was having a good run and was not going to let a damn S2k get in my way! Haha!
I've decided that when my wife's Miata is retired from daily driver status in a few months, I'm going to turn it into an autocross beast. I will say that I have a new respect for my G now. It handles so much better than I realized once I was able to push it this hard.
