Car in shop
Took the car to the shop today. I just dont have the time nor the expertise to do it at my house. Took it in to get the new pads put on and the fluid in the tranny redone. I'm hoping that new tranny fluid might help the catching in between the gears a little bit. I would take it to the dealership, but they said id bewithout the car for a week and since it is my daily driver, I cant just drop it off and not worry. So hopefully my car at 48K miles isnt needing a new tranny in it

Well, I just got the car back. He said that the brake pads only had 15% worn off and were in good shape.. So the squeaking just has to be from what the pads are made of. So now I just have an extra set of Hawk pads sitting here just in case. When he drained the tranny fluid and took it out in the light, he found that there was metallic shavings in the fluid. He believes it is aluminum. He said it could be from just about anything in the tranny. The squeak from the front of my engine is either from the alternator or power steering pulley but could not pinpoint the exact one. When he took off the belt and spun both he heard nothing. So I guess the car is in good shape, only thing that kind of bothers me is those metallic shavings in the fluid.
