Catch Can Anyone?
Ive been doing some research before my SC arrives on tuesday (hopefully), and it seems like a few people have installed catch cans on their cars. Is this really nessesary/recommended? Anything small to make my FI that much safer Ill try to do.

Here's something I found:
Supercharged engines are prone to accumulation of an oil sludge mixture forming inside the intake tract. This is a result of crankcase pressure and inefficient combustion. While this condition is normal it is a hindrance to making higher horsepower and increasing engine longevity.
Oil vapor is forced out of the cylinder head and redirected through vacuum hoses into the intake stream. The oil vapor then condenses onto the inside surfaces in the intake system. This is especially prominent in the intercooler core. A thin film of oil coating the inside of the intercooler will insulate the air to air exchange and lower the ability of the intercooler to cool the intake air charge.
In other words, it will help greatly if you have one since you're going FI. I've read the little catch can that Aaron made. Seems very effective, and it'll save you money on buying one from a retailer.

Oil mist also lowers the effective octane rating of your gas, making the engine more likely to detonate. This is really bad if you're running some type of forced induction or nitrous. I'm NA and even I have to empty my catch can once a week. I think I might have bad rings, though. I've got the dreaded oil consumption issue.

I'd like to make one, but I'm unable to find the required parts as hardware stores aren't as available locally as it is in the US. Anyone want to send me the necessary hardware and I'll PayPal them for their troubles? Please?
