Gravel Truck :(

I was driving on the freeway, and my windshield was cracked by a rock from a gravel truck. The crack isnt big, more like a ball point pen on the impact point, but underneith it, there is a crack like, inside the glass maybe "----" long. I called highway patrol and they said I had to go in to file a claim, but they were already closed, and closed for 4th of july, so I have to go in on wednesday. I got all of the trucks info, license plate, truck number and company. I asked highway patrol if I should call the company, they said they would do that after I filed the claim. What do you guys think my chances of getting the company to get me a new windshield is?? I dont want it repaired, I will still see the hair line crack in the window. I called a mobile window repair, $45 to repair, $205 for new windshield.

Any thoughts

Chances of the truck company paying = slim.

Been there, done that.

I already have 2 repairs in mine. They aren't so bad as long as they aren't directly in your face.

What Zslut said... slim to none with them paying for it. Usually, they have that stupid sticker that says to stay 200 feet behind and they're not responsible for broken windshields.

Getting a crack like that repaired will probably be your best bet as long as it stays below 1-2 inches. Get it filled as soon as you can.

That sticker dont mean squat. File the claim. You can get it repaired unless it's larger than a dime, then the repair will cause distortion.

Agreed. One should try to claim it regardless.

I had a little body work/touch up done and a clear bra installed by 360 Select Care, the owners name is JD super nice guy and great work, fair price. Hard to find good people in this town!
He does windshshield repairs also, I would defenantly give JD a shot. His cell phone is 328-3416

You could also try going through your insurance if you need to replace it yourself.
