Group Drive-Red Rock Canyon-Sunday, Feb. 26th

From the new Miata group board...

We will meet at the Best Buy parking lot at Charleston at 8AM, leaving for the drive by 8:30AM. If you are interested in going, please post up here so that we know to wait for you if you are running late. I'm going to post this up at some other boards that I think might have an interest in attending.

$5 to get in the gate. Cash only.

Brian

Disclaimer:
I know we have some fast drivers and some slow. How you drive is your responsibility. We will try to stay together but those who want to go fast can go ahead while those of us who would rather cruise can hang back. Speeding tickets and wrecks are the responsibility of the driver and not of the group organizers or other group members.

Well, I'm not working on Sunday. My wife and I will go. Are we doing lunch too?

Sucks that I can't go to CA.

I will be there. My wife has to work so I will be flying solo, but I am looking forward to a nice drive. Hopefully there will be a few Z's there so I can meet a few of the locals.

Suddenly a PT Cruiser appears......forces a car off the road!

PT Cruiser tried to keep up speed but held up traffic & wouldn't move out of the way! But FINALLY moved right on the straight away towards the end ....

Really nice pics, Leslie/Glenn & Mike! It was a great meet, even though the Miata guys were kinda wondering why we were there. Red Robins rocked, even at 11 in the morning. Burger brunch... YUM!

Thanks for the invite, Brian.... even though you never showed. You better had a good excuse!

Sorry I did not show. I woke up at 4AM Sunday morning with tendonitis in my left knee. Felt like someone driving a nail under my kneecap. I took some precription strength ibuprofen and got up at 6:30 when the alarm went off. The pain was still killing me so I thought that driving a clutch through most of the morning might not be the best thing to do. It sucks. I was supposed to go hiking with some friends at Red Rock that day as well.

This is what I get for starting a new exercise routine...

Ooooh, ouch. Hope you get better. Take it easy on your exercise routine until you get the hang of it. I need to get back into gear too... what are you doing as far as your program goes?

Well, you didn't miss much at the "cruise". It was more like a renting out a private race track that we paid five bucks for and lasted all of 10 minutes. If I would've known that they were going to go all crazy through the canyon, I would've led the Z's and stopped at some scenic spots for photos.

Damn, do I sound like a sore knee on an exercise routine? Sorry for the ranting.

That was point about letting the fast peeps go ahead. 13 miles goes quick when you go 60MPH though there. You can always reenter the park. That's what I was supposed to do. I was planning on driving the loop with the group once or twice, go back in for photos, and then go back again to meet up with friends for some hiking.

I actually think that I aggravated the tendon at the tech day, getting up and down 1000 times, working under the car, chasing my '91 as it rolled down the street because I forgot to put on the ebrake, etc. Hehe.

I started some light jogging/power walking last week. Lots of stretching and warm up before I go out. I don't think that I was overdoing it.

Sorry I missed it. 9 cars is a good turnout.
