My new audio

I finally got around to installing my old gear in my new car...

Deck is a Kenwood KDC-X869
Sirius Starmate tuner is located in the sunglass holder
Amp is a Sony ES XM-7547 (The last non-sucky amp Sony made)
Cap is a Blitz 2 Farad
Enclosure is by Z Enclosures
Subs are two 10" Boston Pro 10.4LF's
All cable and power parts are Monster Cable

Here's the pics (excuse the horrible lighting. Sun was not cooperating):

Yes, that's my goofy a*s in the mirror.

Please move that antenna to the dash before you ruin the paint! My XM receiver, as well as alot of others works perfect sitting on the dash behind the 3 gauges. Its a much cleaner install too.

Paint's already scratched. I'll probably move it anyways though. I was gonna have the tint guy put a little clear piece there when he did my clear bra but I forgot to ask. Oh well. My paints not perfect anymore anyways. Today a truck threw a rock up at my driver's door. Made a chip about the size of a pencil eraser.

And yeah, I've got a brand new Z and I also have rock chips already.
Are you talking about layout choices? There are a bunch of ways I have seen and some that my stereo guy has come up with that would be pretty sick. Most involve two 10s though, 12s are a little harder to accomodate.

There are a ton of custom options for two 10s that can be relatively cheap and range from completely hidden to painted fiberglass show systems.

If you want to do a single 10, put it in an enclosure behind the driver's seat, where the factory Bose 10" goes. Mount the amps where mine is. If I were going to run two amps, I'd put both side by side where my one amp is and I'd hide all of the power stuff (cap and blocks) on the underside of the amp rack.

My RCA cable runs down the center console. The power and remote turn-on wires run along the passenger's side kick panel and sill plate, under the carpet. The power wire comes into the car through the ECU wiring harness grommet in the battery compartment. The grond wire is attached to the body at the child seat anchor in the hatch area.

Kelli has a single 10" sub mounted in the factory BOSE location. My stereo guy used one of those slim profile Alpine subs and did a custom downfire box back there and it sounds pretty good. Still, one 10" sub is pretty weak. You can do the same downfire setup in the glove compartment too and then you have two 10s completely hidden and still some room underneath the sub to store paperwork.

You don't have the sub, but you have the factory enclosure, which blows anyways. So even if you had the Bose sub, you would have to get two custom enclosures and two subs.

got pics or the model number for the alpine? I have been thinking of getting rid of my current box because it now flies to the back of the car when I take off fast since I got my turbos, lol

Nope. I tried googling it and didn't come up with any shallow mount subs, so its either not an Alpine or just a regular non-slim sub. I can't remember.

Kelli says its just a regular 10" Alpine Type E sub and it was the amp that was abnormally small.

Depends. I had two custom boxes made out of FG for $300 a piece, but they were pretty custom and fit on either corner of my trunk area between the strut bar and the tail lights basically and were removable for when I went to the track or needed to get to my spare tire. Kinda hard to explain. It was when I had a system in my Z. I will try and find some old school pics tonight at home. They hit insanely hard though for only two 10s. You don't need much since the Z is one small open space.

EDIT: I found one picture on-line where you can see most of one of my FG boxes. It was the same on the other side.
