The newest toy!
I picked up my dad's newest toy today. A 1965 Chevrolet Corvette. The car has had a full restoration, but it was done in the 80s . The car was originally a big block car, but during the restoration, they put in a 350ci small block for god knows what reason. The car needs another restoration, but its a fantastic platform to start on. We are going to take it back to a big block and do the rest of the stuff needed to get it back to pristine condition. The previous owner who had it for at least 12 years, doesn't know much about cars or maintaining them so there are a few small quick fix problems like a sticky throttle and a loose shifter. It also got stuck in 2nd gear on the way home lol. There are also a few things about the car that really make me question the people who have been working on it during and after the restoration like a rubber fuel line that lays right up against the valve cover, and an air cleaner thats too big and rubs against the distributor cap sometimes causing it to come loose and move, which in turn, changes the timing dramatically. Carelessness I tell ya. One good weekend of minor fixes should bring this baby back to optimal driving condition until we get the time to do the restoration. Here are a few quick shots I snapped in my driveway...

Did find out by mistake that it will spin (not chirp) in 3rd gear from 45mph.

I am usually JDM all the way, but seeing that old domestic masterpiece brings a smile to my face. Sweet Vette, absolutly beautiful, not much else I can say.
Now the kid in me has to ask...how fast have you gotten it so far, lol.

Okay, 1st time with the Z at the track. Did fairly crappy at my launches and had trouble getting 4th gear on two of my runs.
This is my best run of 3.
RT: 0.771 (was taking a nap)
60': 2.397
330: 6.226
1/8: 9.189
mph: 84.03
1000: 11.676
1/4: 13.768
mph: 107.72
I was satisfied with the trap speed (considering the DA). I think if I pull my head out of my **** and learn how to launch properly, then very low 13's are definately possible. In my defense though; the track prep really sucked. The idiots were spraying water across the entire lane, so no way to go around the waterbox without getting tires wet.
