Painting my Z, need help picking a color.
My Z is getting a shiny new paint job which means that I can choose any color I would like. The problem is, I am giving myself migranes trying to decide. I want a brighter color that stands out on the track. The silvers, whites, grays, and blacks tend to blend in while on track. I don't want to go crazy bright though, so no Lambo oranges or greens. Also, I am not a fan of yellows, pinks, or purples. So far my top choices are...
- E46 M3 Laguna Seca Blue
- BASF Candy Apple Red
- Flat Black (I know I said no black, but damn this looks mean)
- BASF Candy Blue
- And whatever green this is...
So far I am not super crazy about any of them, so shoot out some new color ideas.

Well, they make flat clear coats now too, which is probably the way I would go. So it wouldn't be a primer, it would be an actual paint with the same qualities as any other color. But yes, I would probably choose something with a little satin in it as well so it looks more like a paint than a primer.

that would be interesting to see a 350Z in rattle can black... if that's what you were doing
I like the original Daytona Blue that the 350Z comes in but I"m sure that's not what you want since it is a factory color. That darker blue looks just a shade lighter than the new Mariono(?) blue available this year on the 350.
All those colors look to be good choices. I like that candy red better thant he red Nissan has. Honestly, the lime green and the flat black are the only two I would not recomend

Yep, I think I just made up my mind on the flat black. I keep going back to it for some reason and decided not to fight it anymore lol. Here's the final plan...
Flat black paint with a little bit of Satin in it so it looks like a paint and not a primer.
Wheels and exhaust (yes exhaust) powdercoated gloss black.
Calipers and harnesses stay bright red.
Everything else remains the same.

Nope, I have pretty much made up my mind. This is the only color scheme that I am getting excited about and am positive will look sick. The other colors might me liked more by the general public, but I am dead set on the flat black.
Satin (flat) black. Secondary color is gloss black. Secondary accents are red and carbon fiber. Thats it end of story lol. I am in love.

Hmmm...I dunno. I was not very impressed with all those flat painted cars at SEMA. I thought the Mercedes look like sh*t.
Maybe with a silver racing stripe or logos it might be ok.
I like British racing green as well but...you cannot beat Ferrari red for a racecar.
But whatever you choose, I am sure the car will look great.
