I got smogged last week and I noticed they don't run a sensor to the exhaust any more. I'm not sure how it all worked. Does anyone know what it's looking for? Does my car do some sort of self diagnostic? The reason I'm wondering about this so much is that next year I'll have the APS turbo on board, and I need to plan ahead to figure out how to pass.

 

With no cats on the APS, you're gonna have to bribe somebody.

 

If you find someone that will do a sneaky sneak let me know. The Chevelle's registration has been up for a couple of months.

 

The problem is now the computer knows which car it is analyzing - need to find someone who knows exactly what it is looking for.

OBD II, does not require the tail pipe test. You will most likely fail both visual and the computer check with the turbo installed. You will need to find someone to pass you under the table, but this is getting extrememly difficult.

Just go to one of those rinky dink places (i.e. the sh!thole on Cheyenne and I-15 (towards LV Blvd), I think) and maybe you can bribe them.
