Yeah my in-laws live in Maryland and thay are always 10-20 cents lower than we are here in Vegas. Today, the lowest that they can get it for is $3.35/gallon. For once, they're getting gouged more than we are.
I don't watch the news regularly so I had no idea how bad Katrina really was until I saw the paper at work yesterday. Holy crap! Being a east coaster, I am used to a few hurricaines a year. I've never seen destruction of this magnitude! New Orleans was annihilated! The amount of people that have been displaced is amazing. 80% of the city was under water. Wow. And I was supposed to go to Mardi Gras next year. I don't think that they'll be ready.

Thanks to diesel prices, EVERYTHING is going to start going up.....transportation costs on supplies are really what are gonna screw us up in the long run, everything from food, to car parts, to airline tickets. Gear up cause we arent even in the thick of it yet.
If this doesnt motivate the automotive manufacturers to create some sort of alternate powered transportation for the people, then I dont know what will...this is going to be devestating to the SUV and truck manufacturers over the next few years if this doesnt get better soon.

Bri, I talked to my dad a couple days ago. He called because gas went up so much where he lives(ND). I laughed when I found out their prices finnally caught up to ours.

The Rebel at Sunset and Pecos has some now. They didn't have any for weeks, but got some in on Friday. I put about 5 gallons in on Friday. Right after I left the station, I pulled up next to an STI at a stoplight. Guy looks over at me and nods, little does he know he's about to get whipped. He launches ahead of me, of course, but I proceeded to beat him by about 2 car lengths by the time I got to 70. Quick and painless. Thank you, APS.

Rebels is the only place I know you can still get race fuel. There's a place before Lake Mead on Nellis that you used to get race fuel.
Go to http://www.Vegasgasprices.com for the lastest updates on fuel prices. They've listed the lowest and highest within the last 24 - 72 hours.

Well found out some interesting things yesterday about our gas situation. Talked to some people I know back home that work in the Oil business and they said this whole gas hike is a load of ****. 6 months ago the Oil companies had already decided to raise gas prices to $3 bucks/gallon nationwide in August. Another interesting thing was that all of the oil reserved tanks that we saw destroyed on the news.....they were empty. They had been cleared out almost 2 years ago and the oil companies that owned them kept up appearances in order to claim insurance on their damaged tanks. The oil rig off of the Gulf coast that came in and destroyed one of the bridges off shore; it had been dismantled almost 5 years ago and was only anchored to the bottom with cables. I found it funny how this is all going down and everyone is getting screwed. Gas is going up not necessarily because of shortage; it's because the economy is driving it up. Companies are using the hurricane season for an alibi at the moment to jack up prices; and are currently worried about November. Reason why? From what I hear is that most of the freight/truck drivers are getting very upset due to the drastic increase in diesel fuel and are planning to shut down their trucks for 1-2 weeks in November. Just some interesting stuff I thought I would share.
