I only plan on having this car for around 2 years, so the longest lasting car doesn't really matter to me. The BMW has free maintenance and a warranty that will out-live that 2 year mark.

what is with this silly RHD trend???

1. they would be selling him a car made for the US, not europe.

2. germany is a LHD country.

why would a car company in a LHD country sell him a car that is destined for a LHD country in a RHD configuration???? and why would anyone want a RHD car in the US?????? it would make passing very difficuilt, to say the least.

I'm with the diesel all the way. When I was looking for a winter beater, I was looking for 5-speed diesel only. But I had to settle for a 1996 US spec 2.0L Golf.

If you come to Germany for the Merc euro delivery program, give me a heads up. Oh, and come after April so you'd skip the snow.

Being an *** to Entropy, well one doesn't know that if one's never been there. I just figured england had it so they might to. And its not harder to drive rhd, that way you can see have far away you are from the passing car. Plus it lets you get closer to the gravel when big *** trucks are coming at you.

Shipping is free and insured. They also pay for all of the dock fees and customs stuff. And they send a chaufered BMW sedan to pick you up at the airport and take you to the factory where you get your car. On top of that they give you full, zero deductable insurance for your car and yourself for the time that you are down there. It is pretty much all inclusive except for flight and food. And the flight is even buy one get one free.

Definately. I want to take an extra couple of days and hit up Nurburgring as well. If I go to Germany and don't drive Nurburgring, I will never forgive myself. I will wait until January to order so I can skip the snow. It takes 3 months from order to delivery.

**** i'm sold. I need to finish up school though. I was saying go diesel, cause thats what im going to study. Then i can always turbo it or even twin, if engine bay room is provided. Anyways, i'd get the bmw, you get a free trip, twin turbo's and europlates.

These are my USA plates (short plate). If I had a euro spec vehicle, I'd request the long plates.

Not my car:

If i were you, i would go for a new 335i twinturbo 300hp @5,800rpm and 300tq @ 1,400-5,000rpm

Trust me, this car is a very heard one to beat. Also if i you get a manual tranny. It has clucthless. You'll be a perfect driver all the time.

Mercedes and BMW have them. BMW and Volvo reportedly have the best ones, Mercedes ranked last.

If I was me, I'd go for the 335i too! I've been eyeing that car already... there's a BMW dealership near here. I'll have to go check it out as soon as it hits the euro market.
